Australian/Andorra-based Crime and Mystery Author Patricia W Grey
Exciting news. My second in the DS Bailey novels, Matey, is now available from all Amazon sites worldwide in both eBook and paperback.
...15-year-old, Tracy Keller lives with her divorced, alcoholic mother. She goes running each day to subdue her hunger to escape and live a life of her own. Early one morning she comes across a lone toddler waddling perilously close to a busy road. Not one to step back, Tracy believes in the Chinese proverb, that when you save a life, you are forever responsible.
Detective Sergeant James Bailey, JB to his friends, is one of the senior investigating officers in the Perth Homicide Squad, a division of the West Australian Major Crime Squad. His hopelessly unbiddable dog, Shooter, is also shadowing the infant. Where are the child´s parents? Bailey finds Tracy constantly on his doorstep asking the same question until the answer leads to yet another mystery...
The short story book Kissed by a Stranger, refers to a quote from Stephen King that ...a short story is like a kiss from a stranger. The characters enter your life for a brief, pivotal moment in time. These tales were inspired by my life on three continents- Australia, Europe and the U.S.A.
The idea for the first in the DS Bailey police procedural Taboo came to me after an incident in Perth. A young guy knocked on my door and asked for a glass of water. It was a hellish hot day. I said yes, turned, and without locking the door, went to get him a glass - only to find him pressed against my back in the kitchen. Luckily my dog was asleep under the table. She woke and went for him. But, imagine what could have happened... Buy the book and find out!
My first novel Death Has A Thousand Doors was a finalist in the Hong Kong-based Proverse prize. It follows the disappearance of the beneficiary of a multi-million-dollar trust. A crime that is hard to understand in peaceful Andorra - the unknown pocket-handkerchief country in the Pyrenees.
